Harriet Liu

Harriet Liu is an Oakville-based artist. She has developed a distinctive visual language that blends vibrant color palettes, striking contrasts between light and shadow, and dynamic compositions. Her work draws deeply from personal narratives—most notably her time in Cusco, Peru, where she volunteered in early childhood education in 2015.

While living with a local family, Harriet was profoundly moved by their unwavering resilience, they navigated through their daily hardships with dignity and perseverance. Despite limited resources, they infused their home with warmth and beauty. Through her evocative series of paintings, Harriet seeks to honor the emotional richness and strength of the people she encountered.
