Gallery 1313 has four distinct exhibition spaces, which are available to both our Current Members and our Community Exhibitors to mount a wide variety of shows throughout the year.
The Exhibition Calendar is administered by the Programming Committee with the assistance of the Executive Director.
Main Gallery
Suitable for larger exhibitions, panel discussions, artist talks, small conferences, launch parties, receptions and more. The Main Gallery can accommodate up to 90 people seated and up to 120 people standing.
Exhibitors in the Main Gallery should provide their promotional materials as early as possible prior to exhibition, with a recommended lead time of at least two weeks. Exhibitors should alert the Executive Director to any special installation requirements prior to the installation date (i.e. painting of walls, hanging works from the ceiling etc).
- 1300 square feet, 14 foot-high ceilings and halogen lighting
Process Gallery
This versatile space serves as a laboratory for experimentation. It offers a place for transformation and exploration, and is well suited to video, new media installations, and performance pieces.
- Features 33 linear feet of running wall space
Cell Gallery
This intimate space is reserved for Artist Members to present a solo showcase of new or retrospective work. The Programming Committee invites Artist Members in good standing to submit proposals to mount their two-week exhibition as part of the Gallery’s Exhibition Calendar. Members are limited to one solo show per year. For more details, please see the Become a Member page.
Members exhibiting in the Cell Gallery are required to monitor the gallery for the two weekends that span their appointed exhibition slot. Hours for sitting the gallery are Saturday and Sunday, from 1 – 5 pm.
Artist Members will be trained in the procedures to open and close the Gallery. They are encouraged to contribute to the costs of the opening reception by coordinating with the Community Exhibitors who are showcasing in the Main and Process Galleries. For more information, please refer to the Mounting Exhibitions page.

Box Gallery
This outward-facing window-box showcases innovative work by emerging artists, and its shows are organized by emerging curators.
The Box is located in the exterior courtyard of Gallery 1313’s main entrance. It is westward-facing and receives direct sunlight, so heat and light sensitivity should be considered when evaluating its suitability for an exhibition.

Receptions
Receptions for all exhibitions are generally held on the first Thursday of the exhibition, from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.
Community Exhibitors must secure a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) if serving alcohol, and must arrange to have a server present. If the reception is deemed private (i.e. by invitation), there must be someone at the door to verify invitees.
