Thank you for your interest in becoming a Member of Gallery 1313. The gallery is operated by the Parkdale Village Arts Collective, Inc. (“PVAC”), however, Members do not need to be resident in Parkdale to join our community. PVAC is a non-profit corporation and a registered Canadian charity. As such, its focus is on the community: Members are asked to serve as volunteers in a wide range of roles — from Board work and committees, to fundraising, to sitting gallery and hosting receptions.
Who We Are
Members of PVAC include Emerging and Mid-Career artists who are working to build their careers. We boast many Established artists too: folks who’ve spent a lifetime building richly articulated practices. That said, the Gallery also welcomes Members who are less concerned with professional development and prefer instead to focus on personal exploration, fellowship, and community engagement.
What We Do
The Gallery provides an accessible platform and supportive environment within which its Members may mount regular solo exhibitions and participate in group shows by submitting to open calls. The Gallery also provides a range of professional development opportunities throughout the year.
To apply, please use our Membership Application form. You will be asked for:
- A statement of interest about joining the collective
- An artist statement
- A current CV
- 6 – 10 images of your work, jpg format, no larger than 2MB per image
New Members to PVAC are recommended to the Board by the Membership and Volunteering Committee, which meets on a quarterly basis to review applications. As a result, it may take some time to receive a formal response. Please reach out to us if you have any questions: membership@gallery1313.org
Annual Fee
Members of PVAC are invoiced for an annual Membership fee of CAD $150.
