Advertising

Exhibitors showing in the Main Gallery will receive a complimentary horizontal Banner Ad on www.artoronto.ca.

The gallery will advertise upcoming shows on its social media channels, as well as to its bi-monthly newsletter subscriber base.

The Gallery will print a limited number of posters for use on outside displays.

Installation

Installation of all shows is coordinated to occur on the Tuesday prior to opening, from 11 am to 6 pm. If necessary, more work can be done on the Wednesday morning prior to opening for the Public.

A representative of the Gallery will be on hand to discuss electrical, lighting, and hanging considerations. There are large LED flood lights throughout the space, with dimming available in select areas.

The Gallery has a wide range of tools and ladders available, however only the staff are permitted to climb ladders due to insurance and liability requirements. Installations requiring special access (i.e. hung from ceiling) must be vetted by a staff representative.

Please do not use double-sided tape when hanging work: only nails, screws, or magnetic fasteners are permitted. Plugs can be used where necessary (no butterfly plugs please).

The gallery has several plinths available for use.

Shelves may be installed on walls if required for display of for video projection.

There is a HOME HAREWARE retail outlet across the street.

Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own labels for works on display.

There is a Green-P Parking lot next to the Gallery where Exhibitors can unload. Street parking is sometimes available directly out front of the Gallery.

Reception

Exhibitors in the Main Gallery are encouraged to hold an Opening Reception, which typically occurs from 6:30 – 9:30 pm on the first Thursday after opening (although this can sometimes vary).

If serving alcohol, please secure a Special Occasion Permit at least a week before the reception. This must be used to purchase your alcohol. Guest Lists are recommended, and alcohol must be served by a qualified person. The Gallery can provide a large tub for drinks (no need to bring coolers, but please supply your own ice from the grocer across the street).

The Gallery does not supply cups, utensils, or serviettes.

Sitting Gallery

During weekdays, Gallery Staff will be present to monitor the space. On weekends, one or more Member Artists who are showing in the Cell Gallery will be present.

Community Exhibitors are not required to be present, but are always welcome to pop in during Public hours to meet our visitors.

Community Exhibitors are welcome to provide a show-specific guest book for visitor comments

Strike

Exhibitions are taken down after the close of Public viewing on the last Sunday of the show, usually after 5:00 pm.

Please do any necessary repairs and leave the gallery space as it was during installation. The Artist Member who is monitoring the space will also be taking down their exhibit at the same time.

Please ensure you’ve returned any items that were used for your exhibition (i.e extension cords, etc).

Be sure to prearrange any transportion prior to your strike date.
