Postmodern art often plays with the idea of contrasts, for instance, between photography and painting, abstract and representational, and conceptual and practical. My study aims to challenge the conventional categories by integrating elements from different art forms such as sculpture, painting, and photography.
In my artwork, I create unique and handmade canvases that are sculpted to disrupt the conventional geometric configuration of wall-mounted artwork and create a sense of movement. The structural forms of the canvases also abstract the natural lines within the environment, making each piece a deconstruction of its surroundings.
My investigation into the tradition of Canadian art and the beauty of the physical world, along with my memories, have led me to create pieces that communicate the grandeur and fragility of nature.
