When the world outside is chaotic, tumultuous, I seek comfort and calmness. I look inwardly and make art that responds to the current thought process and conveys a reflection. If desire and greed are not the seeds of most basic emotions, perhaps things can be justified and avoided. These artworks intimate the mundane, the triviality of life that exemplifies and points towards a fundamental, uncomplicated wish to obtain, possess or consume things. Domestically or commercially, these food items are displayed in a restrained yet idyllic isolation. In small portions, they are those innate cravings that fuel the big machinery which can only be controlled when satisfied.
In oil and figurative style, my series of artwork on humanity continues to explore the emotional connection to the world around us. From relationships with others to self-indulgence, my art in this exhibit examines the admission of greed, desire, want, need and yearning for the endless possessions and consumption of things.
