Rooted in the neighbourhood of Parkdale, The Dale Ministries is a community organization and church that seeks to co-create spaces of belonging for all people while making intentional room for people who are marginalized, most often due to poverty, mental health challenges and addiction. We do not have a building of our own. Instead, we have developed a nomadic schedule outdoors and in partnership with a variety of buildings, including Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre, Toronto Community Housing, Epiphany and St Mark Anglican Church, and St. Francis Table. In addition to hosting a weekly art drop-in, The Dale invites local artists to animate workshops that allow the exploration of a variety of mediums. This show exhibits and celebrates art created by our core community members. The Dale thanks the Thorogood Foundation for its support of The Dale’s 2024 Art Program, and for helping us elevate the voices of our people at Gallery 1313.
