I am a Parkdale-based Toronto artist. I embed layers of collage like maps, sewing patterns, and text with acrylic and oil paint to give “voice” to a piece. I am also influenced by the strong female role models in my life who didn’t always have the privilege to use their voices and creativity. Additionally, I paint portraits and autobiographical interior settings, which can elevate the mundane.
My paintings can portray the darker aspects of human experience, and also speak to the universal need to create and be connected to beauty, colour, and joy.
