“OUR ROOTS & BEYOND” is a Visual Arts Exhibition presented by the Latino Canadian Cultural Association that shows Visual Arts by Latin American, African, First Nations, Inuit, Mediterranean and Eastern European Artists. It will showcase the influence of the multicultural society where they work and reside. The artists’ starting point is their own cultural background and experiences, going through the discovery first, and then the sharing of other cultures, to finally, develop and transform them into a new and original product. This multidisciplinary exhibition is part of the “Our Roots & Beyond Festival” and will present high quality artists within their different disciplines.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The LCCA is a non-profit organization born in 2003 with a focus on building a strong community and support system for Latin American artists in Toronto. LCCA aims to give its members opportunities to develop as artists by working as a collective and interacting with members of other artistic communities within Canada. Our mandate is to integrate our diverse social, historical and cultural background into the multicultural Canadian society. Our association will be the bridge that brings Latin American artists to the greater Canadian community through cultural exchange, talks, workshops, exhibitions, and festivals.

The LCCA members work by collaborating and exchanging ideas to execute solid projects as a team. We believe that this will allow us to develop vital links between our members and other Canadian cultural workers. We strive to create a positive and creative vision for our Latin American community in Canada.

Our main objective is to promote Latin American art and culture through the different artists representing the association within the multicultural Canadian society.
