Main Gallery : ANOTHER TONGUE Gomo George is pleased to be presenting a retrospective of sculptural works titled Another Tongue. The work is concentrated in varying aspects on interpretations of the human body and its socio-cultural extensions. In his practice, he utilizes a synthesis of materials, recognizing the materials temporal signature, poetics of form and materiality. In character, the works conceptualize representational spaces, philosophies and desires and serve as conduits to a negotiated course of engagement to a Canadian/Global viewing public.
The work proposes an interactive Panorama where the viewer in the process of viewing enters as subject. Aesthetic form denotes cultural variance, perceptions, beliefs or assertions expressed in these works present an individual view an expression of self, reflected made visible.
