The Red Tree Collective – Jan 16 – 27

The Red Tree Collective

Exhibition Dates: January 16-27, 2019

Cell Gallery

Three artists of the Red Tree Collective come together to present “Louise Was Here”.

Ingrid Mayrhofer is a visual artist who majored in printmaking and photography. “Louise Nevelson’s Rag” is a collagraph she pulled from a darned rag rendered into a printing plate. It is the first in a series of prints from imaginary studio rags of women artists.

Lynn Hutchinson Lee is an installation artist. The work exhibited here is from metanoia, an installation that charts the insinuation of social madness into our daily lives and bodies, and registers our gestures of resistance. Expanding the phenomenon of madness from the individual to the state, with its apparatus of globalized exploitation, surveillance, and devastation of lands and waters, metanoia is an exploration of outrages.

Zoraida Anaya is a mixed media artist. The piece “Zero” is part of her series “Minimalism is Complex”. In her work she attempts to deal with the preoccupation of the excess of anything.
