Typically in an art show you’ll see the finished product – a consistent body of work. But how did the artist get there? What was the experimental path?
In ‘Breadcrumbs’ I am showing small pieces that I’ve made along the way while developing ideas for larger works such as the ‘Phosphenes’ I recently showed at the Elaine Fleck Gallery.
Each piece is an experiment. How will this idea that I have in my head look like in the real world? They are steps on the way in the development of my work. Each one also represents a possible path for new work that I might return to in the future.
