Small Paintings/ Large Country is a series of vignettes, “postcards” in oil on canvas of landscapes from my travels in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia.
I have an abiding interest in vistas, open spaces, wild areas with no evident human habitation. Of course, I have accessed all these “wild” areas through roads, and some of the vistas are of farmland, definitely human related. Nevertheless, as a painter in Toronto, I treasure my escape to serene spaces.
Canada being such a vast country, I look forward to continuing to painting more postcards.
