A live reading , dance performance & film .
The evening will begin with a reading by best selling author Eva Stachniak from her new book, The Chosen Maiden. Based on the life of Bronia Nijinska, the lush, sweeping story of a trailblazing artist and ballerina who charted her course across early 20th century Europe and through the riotous world of modern art.
A dance by Caroline Niklas Gordon, Tilting is a solo about the lives of many. It is inspired by the resilience, courage and strength of a community, particularly of out port Newfoundland communities most of who’s inhabitants chose to float their homes across the Atlantic to other towns when they were being resettled by the federal and provincial governments between the 1950s and 1970s.
To round off the evening, there will be a screening of Glenn Gear’s short film, Resettlement – A floating home.
The show runs just under an hour.
