Close to Home – Performance + Screening

The Parkdale Film + Video Showcase presents our 2016 program ‘Close to Home’ on Friday September 16th from 7:00 – 11:00 pm at Gallery 1313. This event is PWYC with a $5 suggested donation. The showcase will include a live performance at 8 pm by sound artist Colin Gillespie, followed by our 60 minute screening of works selected from the open call starting at 9 pm. The program was curated by the Parkdale Film + Video Showcase programming committee.

All the artists in the program are living or working in Parkdale or are Toronto community members making work about issues relevant to the neighborhood. This includes ideas around community cultures, gentrification, affordable housing, community resources, health and wealth disparities, immigration, settlement and feelings of home.
