Artist Statement: Branches of Hope is a collection of paintings, poetry and animation that respond to the various aspects of Autism Spectrum Condition. Therefore, these works that at times are fully abstract and at times contain figurative forms, are created while having in mind the physical, communicative and social challenges that Autistic people face. However, these paintings want to be uplifting while acknowledging the difficulties and offer contemplation of new possibilities. Therefore these works aim to inject a sense of hope through a sensitive and compassionate view of the inner world of persons with Autism Spectrum Condition. The recurring branches that connect to create colorful windows of possibilities are painted with inspirations from the neurons of the brain, their synaptic connections for creation of circuits and new patterns that relates to the endless potential of the human brain through neuroplasticity.
