Toronto Metropolitan University – New Media Thesis Class – April 14 – 16

The New Media Thesis Class of 2022-2023 has created the experience of Odyssey, in which people can come across various means of adventure, journey, travelling, experience, knowledge and discovery, which ties into all the New Media class’s projects for the year. This journey can be personalized to the creator, based on experiences the creator has encountered, tools they believe will be useful, or comical mediums they want to bring forth through an insightful technological aspect. With these creations, we as a class aim to provide the community with a further definition of what New Media means to us and how it can be used in the ever-advancing technological world.

A foundation in interaction design, media theory, programming, video and sound production, art history, digital fabrication, and contemporary art is provided by the New Media program. Through building games, robots, wearables, kinetic sculptures, interactive videos, and art installations, students can bring their ideas to life. The program helps enhance students’ learning in the physical and virtual world of technology to understand and create work which can be integrated into the evolving society.
