EMBODIED LINE March 1-12, 2023
A soliloquy is a solitary line of inner thought or observation searching to understand or be understood.
I returned this winter to the practice of life drawing – 3-hour sessions dedicated to capturing a model’s pose observed and held for no more than 5, 10 or 15 minutes or just 60 seconds.
The works in this exhibit represent lines drawn in these sessions, using pencil or stylus, plus lines drawn before the digital or mediated line existed.
The imperfections inherent in drawing from life, literally and metaphorically, are the wabi-sabi of existence.
