It seems that nowadays, in abstract art, chaos is in vogue. The busier, the better. I supposed I am bucking this trend. Always striving for minimalism, this series, called “Colour Shadows,” is as close as I have come so far too minimalist painting.
Each sculpted canvas consists of one colour only, straight out of the tube. The nature of the acrylic painting changes throughout the day and night, according to the movement of light. The tonal shifts and shadows are achieved by modelling the sculpted canvases. There is nothing chaotic or busy about these three-dimensional shapes.
