Ryan Watson – Watson Art + Photography – May 25 – June 5

Watson Art + Photography is an ongoing series by the Toronto-based artist and photographer Ryan Watson. The work consists of urban and industrial images found throughout the Greater Toronto Area. These photographs are then manipulated using generative art techniques applied with digital post-production tools. Investigating forgotten locations and surfaces that are often disregarded altogether, this series re contextualizes the post-industrial underside of Toronto and its surrounding areas. The project aims to extract the raw, tarnished appearance of a major North American city and transform it into art before gentrification sweeps through it entirely.
